One of the many life lessons that I learned on this trip was the beauty of giving back. The Belizean culture is immersed in the power of giving. In two short weeks, I heard story after story of individuals who gave back to their community.  We call it "charity" in the US, but the Belizean act of “charity”  seems so much more wholesome and genuine.What is even more astounding is that those who had next to nothing,or nothing at all, gave back with their time, talent, and/or love from their heart.  Giving back is more than monetary donations, it also a donation of ones time, heart, and soul.  Karma is alive and well in Belize.
